I simply dont understand why the selection is based on merit (20%), race (60%), Sabah and Sarawak citizens (10%) and students from underprivileged groups (10%)..

why not abolish such criteria and set only one criteria.. those who score straight As, automatically eligible to get the scholarship.. fair for everyone..

Malaysian politicians.. our children education is much more important.. they are our future leaders.. think twice before you act.. chinese, malay or indian, we are the same, we are malaysian..

Some of u might have seen this korean drama series.. I jus finished 24-episodes of this drama in a week.. the reason i like to watch it because of the cool CGI effects and also the actress (the one the left in the picture). She has the same look like my gf... some of u might not agree with me but that is not my problem la.. ;)

anyway, what i have learnt from the movie is that the determination and the contribution of the king of Goguryeo in the movie. he is someone who thinks that without war, he could build a harmony and united nations..

similarly, i found that King of Thailand, His Majesty Bhumibol Ayulyadej has the same characteristic to King of Goguryeo in terms of compassion and contribution to the people. perhaps the media influence of showing how kindful of thailand king to His people that make Thais love their King so much..

Such kings (thailand king and goguryeo king) are the king that i think we should have, no matter in which country..

they are someone who have unlimited of wealth, money, cars, properties which more than a person could owns.. the best of all, they have the power.. however some kings are not allowed to over acting because they are under some constitution and there are limitations for them..

however, i believe that if their power and wealth are used to ease people suffering such as poverty, disease eradication, and education. they could have created a good karma for themselves and bring alot of benefits to the people.

waiting for the government to approve certain of fund for helping the need may takes years to fulfilled because of the procedures and also the people within the government backstabbing each other (we always fight each other). if the sense of unity is instilled within the people in the government regardless which party, we would have in the most harmony and prosperous country where everyone enjoys the same benefit

if i am a king...

whether i am king or not, i do realize my existence in this world, i have no difference to someone who is begging for money at pudu raya.. the major difference is my rank and i am rich.

as king, definitely i would send my children (crown prince+princes+princesses) for the best education in the world. stay in the palace with maids in every room, every corner of the palace, garderners for each pots of flower. jus because i m king, a super rich fella

i m pretty sure that my next generations will never suffer..

but

why not i share some portion of my wealth to help others?

a teacher always tell her students that one should be down to earth if one day he/she become successful..

if i am a king...

i will spend most of my time doing charity service.. eradicate poverty like beggars, prevent human exploitation, visit more rurals areas in my state, and make my people to love me. respect is to be earned.

i wish people to see me as someone like them instead of residing in the palace. people need my help. whether people is going to appreciate my help, that is another story. what i know is if i am there to help them, i have created a better place for them.

27th Sept, the hp branch in my town gave me a call and asked me to collect my lappy. it has been 3 weeks i never see and touch her. was very delighted that she returns to me. when i reached home at night, immediately i plugged the power cord and the result...

same as before... heart-broken on the spot...

i have decided to send her to the same shop again and asked them to reformat everything eventhough i have to lost all my files... hopefully it is because of the software problem, or else i will demand for a new lappy..

24th sep 2008, i sent my gf off today.. it is one-week holiday for her.. we had dinner together and share a bowl of 'loh mee' this evening.. she jus recovered from fever and having diarrhea.. at the terminal, i went to buy the medicine for her before the bus started to move..

after few minutes after the bus left, she text-ed me, saying that she never felt this sad to go back home and wish next time i would go back with her...

the moment after i read the text, i felt the same thing.. the feeling of someone important suddenly getting far away from you, even though u knew that it is just a week.. somehow, i feel the close bond is stretched, but two hearts always connected to each other.. love..

where to park your bicycle?

on the last 11th sept 2008, after returning from thailand, i found there was a bicycle parked in from of Watson in the town..
the owner must be creative enough to think of parking place for his bicycle. he may thought that the pole might be the most solid pole and safe enough park and lock his bicycle there..
someone actually pasted a note on the bicycle! i wonder who is so free to do that.. Wondering..

last one month ago, my father's old proton wira aeroback was sent to workshop for new painting.. too much scratches (done by the kids who hired by someone to do so in my housing area) and dents on the car body. my father said that better get the car painted in order to avoid the whole car get rusty.

before the car was sent to the paint shop, the compressor has to be changed too because it produces annoying sound. RM600 for the second-hand compressor gone.

the cost for painting the whole car is RM1400. Gone.

two weeks after that, the air-con down. at first i thought it leaked while was changing the second hand compressor... unfortunately, the foreman dismantled the whole cooling unit and ran a experiment to detect the leakage

as you can see the brown spot in the picture, the leakage actually came from a very very tiny hole. the hole is as small as the tip of needle! In the end, the whole cooling unit is replaced a new one. RM250 gone.
why not welding the hole? yes, can weld that hole but after period of time, there will be another leakage at other part.. perhaps the inner wall of the cooling unit corroded after a period of time.. so better can a new one.. reduce the hassle to visit the workshop again and again..

Senior: she was like few years older than me, 2-4years, cant remember.. i knew where was her family used to stay and also her younger brother attended the same mandarin class with me.. her brother's name similar to 'doraemon' in chinese..

Junior: christiansaen robert. cool name huh? he was my badminton mate last time. we used to hanged out in the badminton court almost every week during that time.. we did participated in competitions as team double and also while practising.. we have known each other since primary before we lost contact when i was graduated from the secondary school.. he found me from the facebook, and i m glad to track him back.. cant believe right now he is an event manager for his own company: Stereopath..

first public apperance in the yoyo scene..

i made a promise to a fren of mine (a yoyo fren) that this year i wanna perform yoyo in front of the public.. all the while, i have been working behind the scene as myyc 2007 and 2008 organiser (with dimi and ray) and also did all the documentations for the malaysian yoyo club..

today, 15th Sept 2008 was the day i fulfilled that promise. my fren who is working with government actually invited me to perform. i turned down the offer last two weeks ago, that time i wasnt confident to do so.. two days before the event, he called me and requested again..

during the moment he asked for the second time, i felt something special.. something that happened to me before.. asking someone help for the second time after got turned down for the first time just like begging for a help.. i just dont like to let someone down jus because of my ego and fear to do something new...

that's y i accepted his offer.. simple as that.. i believe i should progress from one point to another and now it's the time to do so..

seriously speaking, i admit i am nervous + sweating while performing, but overall i do enjoy it very much.. there is no stage, jus on the road and people were surrounding the main area..

for the first time, i did 3 divisions in a 5-minutes song : single a, offstring and freehand. mistakes? yeah.. plenty! feel terrible to talk about it.. however, i moved around the area rather than stayed static at a spot.. if i didnt do so, i would feel the pressure and stress come from the people.. moving around the area made me felt that i control the crowd and the whole show... truly a good experience for me, first time ever..

my gf, mom, sister, palia cousin, uncle meng and wife, cousin wei jian were also there to watch my show.. my father wasnt there because he just don like to be in the crowd.. perhaps he is hiding somewhere else.. Nonetheless, my gf purposely came down all the way from her university to support me even though i don mind if she didnt come.. love her alot :)

Another public performance? why not?

14 september was a mooncake festival.. suprisingly no one else in my flat area celebrating it.. perhaps it was because mostly the residents are malay... same thing happen in the town.. silent and dull.. kuala terengganu.. what a sad place (this what my gf told me) plus, hardly see people selling any lanterns even in the malls..

maybe i am used to this kind of situation as a kampung boy from terengganu.. celebrating merdeka eve, new year eve, valentine, and mooncake festival in kuala terengganu is not as fun as other place like kuala lumpur..

confronted by thai police at sungai golok, thailand

last friday, 12th Sept, i went to sungai golok with mom and sister. went there to send off one aunty back to her hometown.

the incident happened when the car was parked right outside a bank. mom went to exchange thai currency and we were in the car eating our fruits..

then i saw all the motorcycles which were in front of the bank have to lift their seat up.. Weird.. so i took a picture of it

5mins later, a police officer came and asked me some questions like, why do you take the picture and are you a reporter from Malaysia? lol.. have to cover the story or else i will be asked to delete the photo or asked to go to police station for full investigation..

my successor, jerry in rotaract club of utp is organising a trip to jakarta at the end of this year. a 7days trip will be packed with lots of activities and fun which you wont have anytime to rest!

what makes this trip worth to consider is the overall expenses. Almost everything is covered except meals with just below RM1,000. Yes, return flight included as well.

i wish to go as well because i never been there, but i not sure whether i could take any leave for that later. perhaps i could join them later on my own...

lappy nightmare..

i couldn't imagine what will happen if my laptop, HP tx1000's HDD is damaged. everything is inside : myyc07 and 08 files, pictures of me and my gf, songs, my 5years of academic stuff, movies, tvb dramas, resumes, more.

the most valuable asset in my laptop are the m-yo.com stuffs and my resumes.

i m not sure why this happen to me.. it was during a friday evening where i sit on a sofa and was writing packages, then the screen went nut, something like repetitive pictures.. at first i thought it was minor problem, jus restart and it will be back to normal..

sadly, it cant boot at all...

got the lappy sent to the computer shop (HP authorised seller), luckily the warranty is still within the period and they will let me know in two weeks time.. i have alot of pirated softwares inside.. hopefully they close one eyes on it...

having 160GB of space in C: Drive is totally not recommended..
1. 160GB will takes hours if u are defragmenting your drive in Vista
2. Plus u cant see the progress of defragmentation in Vista (unlike the one in XP)

Guess i need to learn how to create some new partitions later once i got my lappy back (used to do that to my desktop)

24hours device in the house after refrigerator

perhaps you never notice that the refrigerator in the house is operating 24hours nonstop.. the frozen food need to be kept in that condition therefore you cant off the refrigerator..

(i skipped the cctv, alarm and automatic door because generally not many of moderate families had them in their house)

today, the second items that going to be on for 24hours nonstop is your deskstop or laptop.. our generation nowadays couldnt live without internet, especially downloading movies, series, software, anime and even porn.

the most reliable mechanic in kt

last year, my mom installed cd player in the car and was told to installed amplifier for better sound.. the shop is Save Cost Car Acessories Shop which is located at Jalan Kamaruddin..

one week after that, the player started to produce an annoying sound everytime i press the accelerator, then my mom sent the car to that shop, they tested and tune something and it was ok again... 10minutes of driving, the sound came back...

in the end my mom got fed up and off the player even the radio everytime she drove.. can remember when, my sis wanted to use the car and wanna listen to musics, and so she went to the same shop to fix the thing..

this time, the owner said need to change the cables and ended up paying rm180.00 but again, the sound came back after a few days..

the sound lasted for about a year plus... if you don mind to tolerate with the sound, then is it ok la, but the passengers may not like it.. lol

few weeks ago, i decided to send the car to a workshop in chinatown, the owner named Ong.. he fixed the thing in one day! i spent rm45 only!

next time i will send my car there if any problems.. highly recommended for those who need a reliable mechanic in the town, kuala terengganu..

went to Mumtaz Murad Ali Sdn Bhd this afternoon (1.30pm) to print business card. was told that rm35 for 100 pieces and can collect at 3.00pm on the same day.

fyi, the design is smaller than the actual business card which is 4cm x 6cm and i am allowed to print 2 designs, 50 pieces for each design..

3.30pm the staff still cutting the cards.. waited for another 20 mins..

then, i checked the card, first 50pieces were nicely cut (still acceptable) but the other 50pieces are totally out : the card turned out to be distorted rectangle card!

i complained this to the boss who is my secondary classmate's brother and tell him i m not satisfy with these..

do you know what did he say?

1. "you must know that the cutting process is done by hand, not the machine because the card is smaller than usual"
2. "well, if you give one card to people, they wont notice much about this"
3."you wont get any price like here, KL price much more higher"

all these three statements are totally not acceptable..why? here is what i think..
1. it is not my problem if you wanna use machine or hand to cut it... all i want is result, a service that up to a standard.
2. the way he talked as if he did gave someone distorted card before, perhaps he doesn't how much a business card could affect the receiver's perceptions towards who gave the card to (s)he.
3. totally not related, when i came to the shop, i am expected to pay for what the price is.
4. i am not goin to pay RM35 for this kind of outcome.. a piece of business card at 35cents is not cheap!

to make it worth paying, I told him face to face that his worker takes thing for granted.. and requested for new printed 50 cards.. but this time, I CUT IT ON MY OWN.. at the end i left the shop at 4.15pm after paying RM30...

lesson learn : make sure you ask everything before you wanna print anything, so that at the end, you could defend yourselves..

1. customer - reject the thing if you not satisfy, as long it is reasonable and arguable.
2. printing company - provide a good service and up to the standard with workers who know the responsiblity

yeah.. rubik's cube malaysia open will be organised on the same day with malaysian yoyo championship.. i personally involved in this with toys r us as a middle person between the cube community and the toy company... when i was told the date of the event few weeks ago (before the official announcement) i was totally suprised and silent (i told the person in charge that we will be having myyc on 23 and 24 Aug 2008).. anyway, for the sake of the cube community, i cancelled the cube contest in myyc so that all cubers will support that event and gather them under one roof...

bicycle for rent in kuala terengganu

last week, ktc leisure company jus launched its service : Rent A Bicycle..

well, i find it interesting because cycling around kt is a good choice.. why? simply because kt ain't that big.. would u believe me that u can walk from the beach to the town? (for those who know the geography of this state)..

each bicycle comes with a basket at the from and there is KT map attached to the basket.. Other features are the same like the normal bicycle except that there is only one speed..

the rental is RM15 for first two hours and each hour later is RM3 per hour... But RM30 will be charged for one day (8.30am till 5.30pm).. huh? that's i what i was told by the worker there.. I find the rental fee abit high, even though doing 'gwai low' business.. come to think of it, if i were the owner, RM 15 per day sounds reasonable.. plus the company has about 20 ++ bicycles there... i would rather rent at RM15 because i may not get any customers at RM30..

and of cos, terms and conditions will be applied to the customer such as deposit, fine for damaging the bicycle, fine for losing it, etc..

to me, it is indeed a great reward and an encouragement.. he/she deserve the one million for the hardwork, effort and time spent.. well not all malaysians agree with the government's decision.. 66% sms voters disagreed with this one million reward (based a tv programme on RTM1, 8.30pm, 10th Aug 2008)... these are what they think...

tax payers : 1mil is alot, government should re-think the amount, perhaps reduce to 500k only

religious person : the money should be give away to 'tilawah' winner and plus you can get more 'pahala'

poor citizen : giving 1mil out is a waste, better give to the needy

others : 1mil will make the atheletes more stress and pressured, and that will change their goal to pursue for money, not the sportmanship...

transnasional bus : single vs double

for the first time i saw this bus, i told myself i wanna take a ride on it, i did ride one before when i was travelling in thailand long long time ago.. so i wanna experience this in malaysia

however, i found that the seat space is smaller than the single deck bus, really uncomfortable.. Even though it has the elegant look and nice interior design, but 8 hours of ride is not pleasant at all on the small seat... imagine you travel from Perlis to Singapore... you will suffer... you can give a try...

4 ways to get to sunway pyramid

i ranked the options from the most favourable to less favourable..

bus
RapidKL number U63, U67 or U76 (not sure about U76).. only cost you RM2.00 with unlimited trip within the day (dont throw away the ticket ya!)
if it is off peak, you can get to Sunway Pyramid within 30minutes from KL Sentral.

train
- first option : Take KTM Komuter to Subang Jaya Station from any KTM stations (fare varies according where you board, minimum fare is RM1.00 one way), then continue with feder bus (80cents one way)
- second option : Take Putra LRT to Kelana Jaya Station from any Putra LRT Station stations (fare varies according where you board, minimum fare is RM1.00 one way), then continue with RapidKL Bus number T167 if i m not mistaken (RM1.00 with unlimited ride within the day)

your own car
all you need to worry are fuel , toll and the amount of parking fee that you need to pay in the mall later.. much more convenient if travel with family

taxi
not recommended unless if it is no choice... the taxi driver loves to overcharge the customer especially tourists... hardly find any decent malaysian taxi driver who charges according to meter rate. May cost you up to RM30 and above...

travel with public transport : midvalley - bukit bintang - klcc

I personally prefer to use public transport like train and bus to move around the city... well.. affordable for people like me.. here is some tips that i would like to share..

INTRODUCTION

Bukit Bintang (BB) - the golden triangle of Malaysia..

KLCC - where the world tallest twin towers located..

Mid Valley (MV)- a shopping mall with the most cinema halls..

ROUTE & FARE

MV to BB via train
MV-KL Sentral (KTM train) : RM1.00
KL Sentral - Bukit Bintang (KL Monorail) : RM1.60
Total : RM2.60

MV to KLCC via train
MV-KL Sentral (KTM train) : RM1.00
KL Sentral - KLCC (Putra LRT) : RM1.60
Total : RM2.60

BB to KLCC via train
Take KL Monorail from Bukit Bintang Station to Bukit Nanas : RM1.20. Then you can choose to walk to KLCC (to save cost) or take PUTRA LRT from Dang Wangi Station to KL Sentral with RM1.00 (if you are lazy to walk). Btw, you still need to walk from Bukit Nanas Station to Dang Wangi Station..

MV to BB via bus
Take RapidKL number B101. You will pass by KL Sentral before you reach Bukit Bintang.

BB to KLCC via bus
Take RapidKL number B103.

If you want...

to get to those places fast..
train is faster compare to bus.
but KTM is worse compare to others. if you missed the train, you need to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes for the next train..unless you are lucky enough..
if possible try to avoid 5.00pm and weekends because of heavy human traffic.. if you don mind squeezing.. :P

to save cost but doesn't mind the long waiting..
travelling by RapidKL Bus is a good option because you can use the same ticket to go to BB and KLCC, RM2.00 per day with unlimited ride! .. if it is your day, the bus will be waiting for you instead you waiting for it..

why bother to pay extra 50cents if u can get to bukit bintang from imbi station via kl monorail?

Here is the KL monorail fare...

KL Sentral to Bukit Bintang (Sungei Wang Plaza) = RM2.10

KL Sentral to Imbi (Berjaya Times Square) = RM1.60

Actually Bukit Bintang and Berjaya Times Square are near to each other and it is walking distance.. if you are planning to go to Bukit Bintang from KL Sentral, get down at Imbi Station, then walk to Bukit Bintang area...

Pros and cons
- for tourists. they might not bother to pay extra 50 cents because they not comin to this area everyday..

- for workers. 50cents is alot if you accumulate it for a month or a year... however depending where do you work..

- sightseeing. well that is not much sightseeing because u will walk behind the alley.. it is the shortcut..

- accessibility. accessible to Low Yat Plaza, Berjaya Times Square, Sungei Wang, and Berjaya Plaza

minimum 4 pieces, if not we 'rugi'

30 minutes before entering IMAX for The Mummy 3 movie, i went to get a quick lunch.. so i chose this yong tau fu..

at first i chose two fish balls and two chee cheong fun, handed the plate to the cashier, then she told me, "minimum 4 pieces of yong tau fu".. "Huh? why there is no sign saying minimum 4 pieces?" i said.. "We will 'rugi' later", she replied... anyway i jus took another 2 more fish balls because i just like to eat yong tau fu..

judging from the situation, i can choose to refuse to buy the food because of they didnt mention you need to take at least 4 fish balls. Next, it is not my problem if they 'rugi' because i chose 2 fishballs only... i know that the rental is not cheap in Berjaya Times Square... but still, customer always right...'rugi' or 'untung' is the nature of business... they should have known that and they should be grateful that i went to order the food with them...

imagine that if no one patroning them, for sure the fishballs will taste sour as they rotten..in the end everything will go into dustbin..

FYI, this shop is located at Level 10, Food Court, Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia..
